SOLÉ is a series containing digital b/w photographs taken over the course of 10 years by dancefilmartist PIIA. In this exhibition, you are invited into a space of solace. Inside a mind and in a world where everything seems to move faster and pulled deeper at the same time, there exists simultaneously a receding. A quiet request of treading back, in parallel, inside the body. Like white noise in the background, it projects a longing for the opposite.
Visually the exhibition shows the usage of light symbolizing the feeling of hope as a counterpart to grief. Two purifying emotions dependent on each other, for either one of them to exist. Space is also intentionally used as an element and seeps through the 9 works, making them as vast as they can be in their own form.
SOLÉ or for the undying sake of beauty is the first out of 3 exhibitions in the series THE RECKONING, dedicated solely to photography as an art form. In this series all of the shots have already been taken, though never shown to the public eye - until now.
